    Overview and Appearance
    • Size: Grows to a manageable 10 to 12 cm (4 to 5 inches).
    • Color: Brown with white spots as juveniles .
    • Bristles: Mature males develop slightly longer, fleshy tentacles (bristles) on their snouts, while females have few or none.
    Tank Requirements and Care
    • Tank Size: At least 80 liters (20 gallons) for a single adult.
    • Water Parameters: Temperature between 22–28°C (72–82°F) and a pH of 6.0 to 7.5.
    • Decor: Needs plenty of hiding spots, caves, and natural driftwood, which they graze on for fiber to aid digestion
    Diet
    • Algae Control: Grazes actively on soft green algae and diatoms on tank glass and decorations.
    • Supplementation: Must be fed algae wafers, sinking pellets, and blanched fresh vegetables like zucchini or cucumber.
