This lot is for Japanese trapdoor snails (Cipangopaludina japonica previously called Viviparus malleattus). I will do my best to make it a mix of males and females, there will be 2 larger ones and 1 smaller.

Few quick facts:

- Relatively hardy freshwater snail from Asia

- Get up to 2" big (takes a long time to get that big)

- Livebearers.  They don't lay eggs like most snails, they give birth to live young, usually only 1-3 at a time, definitely don't won't take over your tank

- They don't come to sexual maturity until 1 year old (in my experience it's closer to 6-8 months)

- They eat soft algae and detritus but also enjoy veggie wafers, fish flakes, and other leftovers - Won't hurt your plants as long as they aren't starving.

- You can tell the males from the females by their antennas.  Males have 1 long, straight and 1 shorter, curled that also acts as a reproductive organ. Females have 2 long straight ones.

Note: They are 100% legal in MN as long as you don't introduce them to the wild
