1 x Quart Bag of Frog Bit

Currently kept in outdoor mini ponds so may contain:
Pond Snails
Ramshorn snails
Scuds
Giant Duckweed
Duckweed
Cherry shrimp

Pros:

• Floating plant, doesn't need substrate
• Takes in nutrients from water, can help limit algae in many tanks
• Roots usually stay shorter and neater than water lettuce, often used as cover for shrimp/fry
• Tends to grow fairly fast under moderate to high light
• Can provide dappled shade that some fish and shrimp seem to like
• Generally easy to thin out - just scoop some off

Cons:

• Can multiply quickly and cover the surface, reducing light for plants below
• Does poorly with strong surface flow or condensation dripping on leaves - can lead to melting
• Leaves that stay wet on top tend to rot
• Small leaves can get pushed under or pulled into filters
• Can be considered invasive in some areas, shipping restrictions exist in some states
• Root length and growth can vary a lot depending on light and nutrients
