African butterfly fish

Misc and oddball fish, lot number 35
Bred by this user

African butterfly fish are strange, beautiful, hardy fish. They spend their lives clinging to the surface of the water and snatching insects from the surface or the air. Despite their fierce appearance they are quite peaceful although they will eat other surface dwellers small enough to fit.

Auction is for 4 young fish. These are about 4 months old and eating baby brine shrimp and floating flake food; they would also appreciate floating insects (e.g. pinhead crickets or springtails.) Make sure you have a tight lid -- they are expert jumpers!
