This pair is 1 female with 1 male.

Betta channoides is a small, peaceful paternal mouthbrooding betta from Borneo. Adults typically reach 1.5–2 inches. They prefer calm water, low to moderate flow, and stable conditions.

Ideal temp range is 74–80°F. They do well in soft to moderately hard water. Best kept as a pair in a quiet tank with cover (plants, leaf litter, or caves).

Breeding behavior is straightforward: the pair courts, the male takes the eggs into his mouth, and holds for 10–14 days before releasing free‑swimming fry. Fry accept baby brine and microworms easily.
