These fish reach about 1.25–1.5 inches. They handle a wide temperature range (55–85°F) and do well in unheated tanks or outdoor tubs. Peaceful, group‑oriented fish.
They are egg‑scattering breeders. Females carry adhesive eggs briefly before placing them on plants or mops. Fry are easy to raise separately; adults may eat some but are not heavy fry predators.
Blue‑eyed type shows the reflective eye ring typical of the strain. Suitable for tubs, ponds, or standard aquariums with gentle flow.
These were bred last summer in outdoor tubs and brought indoors to basement tank that got as low as 48 degrees Fahrenheit.
