The AAAA 04/2026 Mega auction

Atlanta Area Aquarium Association – Spring Mega Auction

Bidder numbers will be assigned at check-in.
On-site registration opens at 10:00 AM, and the first lot will be sold at 11:00 AM.

Auction Rules

  • Species restricted by federal or state regulations will not be permitted for sale (including, but not limited to, mystery snails, assassin snails, and duckweed).

  • Only auction personnel may move fish from the viewing area.

  • Sellers are limited to 40 lots. Any additional lots will be accepted as donations only.

  • A maximum of 4 lots per item is allowed. Auction personnel may combine lots at their discretion.

Bagging Guidelines

  • Clearly label each bag with the lot number and description.

  • Ziploc bags are NOT permitted for wet items.

  • Use one (or two) proper fish bags with appropriate water levels:

    • Animals: ⅓ water, ⅔ air

    • Plants: enough water to cover the bottom seam

  • Multiple bags may be combined as one lot if needed.

  • Tip: Your local fish store may provide bags if you ask.

  • Items in buckets, coolers, or other containers will be sold with their container.

Additional Guidelines

  • Dry goods are welcome.

  • No open food or chemicals allowed.

  • Public sellers receive a 50/50 split of proceeds; supporting members receive a 70/30 split. Memberships are available at customer service.

  • Items submitted for BAP, CARES, or HAP must be clearly labeled and accompanied by the appropriate forms to receive credit.

Quality & Handling

  • Auction personnel reserve the right to reject any items not fit for sale.

  • Improperly bagged items may be re-bagged for a $2 fee, or removed from the auction.

  • Lots that must be disposed of will incur a $1 fee.

Extras

  • Priority Stickers ($2): Move your lot ahead in the auction queue.

  • Raffles:

    • $1 per ticket or $20 per sheet

    • Must be present to win

    • Includes Supporting Members–only raffles (membership required)

  • Food & Drinks:
    Tickets to redeem for food/drinks are $1 each. Present one ticket for a soda or bottled water and/or two tickets for each slice of pizza. Tickets are available at customer service.
