These are excellent fish for outside for controlling bugs. They can be kept outside all year long as long as the water does not freeze completely. They are also great fish to raise for feeders and multiply very quickly. With right coverage for the fry. They will also not populate very quickly in your tank if there are not a lot of plants they eat they’re young very frequently and you may never see a fry if you don’t set the tank up for breeding.
