General information
The Boston Aquarium Society (BAS) will be holding it's spring auction on May 18, 2026. It will be held in place of our regular month monthly meeting. We will be located in the Simons Theatre adjacent to the New England Aquarium (1 Central Wharf, Boston, MA 02110). Please visit our site, bostonaquariumsociety.org, for additional details.
- In-person Registration will begin at 7:45PM
- Bidding will begin at 8PM. We conclude when all lots have been sold, but no later than 10PM.
Transportation
By car: You’ll usually find open spots along India Street (set GPS to 35 India St).
Garage: Paid parking is available at the Boston Harbor Garage.
MBTA: Take the Blue Line to Aquarium Station.
Payment
- Cash and check are accepted from all bidders. Club members may also pay via credit card (you may register for membership at the door!)
- All purchases must be paid for in full before leaving the venue.
- Sellers will be paid at the conclusion of the auction. If you need to leave early, we will mail you a check. Ensure you have provided an accurate address and phone number at registration.
Prohibited items
- You cannot sell anything prohibited by state law.
- All dry goods must be clean and in working condition
Rules
- If you pre-register lots, you must clearly label each bag with species name, quantity, seller name, and lot number. Bags that are unlabeled and not registered at the door will be assumed a donation.
- All lots must be properly bagged. No leaking bags!
- You do not need to be a club member to buy or sell lots.
- The BAS retains the right to disqualify any items that are deemed unfit to auction at its own discretion.
- There is a maximum of 10 lots per person. Each person may bring a maximum of 3 dry goods lots (any dry goods lots count as part of the overall 10 lot limit). Please be reasonable and limit the number of identical lots brought per species/variety.
- Items that are not auctioned and are not claimed by the seller will be considered donations to the BAS
