Geophagus sp. "Alto Sinu", commonly known as the Gold Dust Eartheater, were discovered in the Alto Sinu region of Colombia around 2016 and are prized for their brilliant coloration.
Characterized by shimmering golden bodies, red-humped males, and blue iridescence. Reaching 6–8 inches, they require sand substrate for sifting, prefer 72–82°F, 5.5-7.5 pH and are generally peaceful omnivores, maternal mouthbrooders.
Behavior: They are active excavators and may uproot delicate plants, though they are generally gentle toward other fish.
