1 Everyone is invited – members and the general public. This is a “cash only” auction.
2 Auction to primarily contain fish, plants and equipment/hardware related to the aquarium hobby. Other aquatic or reptile related items are welcome.
3 Registration of auction items can be entered on-line and will close just prior to the live auction at 8:00 p.m. on the day of our meeting.
4 Items received after 8:00 pm will be accepted as time permits.
5 Public inspection and review of auction items until 8:30 pm.
6 The auction starts at 8:30 pm.
7 All items sold will be on a percentage basis. The split is 75% to the seller and 25% to DSAS.
8 All donations will be accepted and all revenue gained by selling the donated items will become the 100% property of DSAS.
9 All items must have an item number and any item without an item number will be considered a donation and all proceeds of its sale will go to DSAS. Seller may suggest a starting bid but may not specify a minimum bid. Auctioneer will have sole discretion to adjust or lower starting bid to ensure item is bid on and sold.
10 No zip-lock bags. Seller is responsible for properly bagging to ensure survival of their livestock and prevent leakage. A limit of 75 auction items per person and/or household, however, no more than 8 bags of fish or plants of the same species or variety will be allowed per seller.
11 No government restricted fish or plants will be allowed under any circumstances.
12 Used equipment must be clean and in working order unless otherwise specifically indicated on the auction item by the seller.
13 All livestock must appear to be in healthy condition.
14 The auctioneer reserves the right to not auction any fish, plant or other merchandise that they deem to be in unsatisfactory condition or too young.
15 DSAS will NOT be liable for any fish, plant or other item presented for auction but will exercise the greatest possible care to prevent damage, breakage or theft.
16 All buyers must pay cash to the auction runner who brings their item to them as soon as the item is awarded to the successful bidder.
17 All sellers will receive payment for their auctioned items within 2 weeks of the auction along with an itemized and detailed list of each of their items that were entered into the auction.
18 Any and all unsold auction items are the sole responsibility of the seller and must be removed from the premises at the conclusion of the auction OR upon the seller leaving the auction, whichever occurs first. Any unclaimed items will be assumed forfeited and disposed of by the auction room clean-up team. A $20 deposit fee will be assessed on EACH unsold aquarium tank or stand, regardless of size, left after the auction.
19 Immediate “push” of an item(s) to the auctioneer - $1.00 per item and must be paid to a “runner” prior to the item(s) being taken to the auctioneer.
20 There will be a bagging station complete with air pump for leaking bags. Seller will be responsible for ensuring their livestock is properly double bagged with at least ¼ water and ¾ air. No zip-lock bags please!
A $1 processing fee per bag may be assessed at discretion of DSAS officers for improperly bagged fish or plants.
DSAS meets the second Monday night of every month except July at the Wilmington Manor Lions Club (behind Wilmington University), 320 N DuPont Hwy (Rt 13 N), New Castle, Delaware 19720.
