This is a generous culture of microworms. This is a nematode and will always be a worm not a flying adult insect. There is some odor(as the culture matures) to raising these guys but no salt spray. This is a great food for fry and I use it extensively for feeding my baby guppies. You can raise these worms on a number of mediums (check the internet). Worms can be harvested using an old toothbrush as they climb up the side of your container I use dried bread crumbs for my medium. The only other thing you need is some yeast and water. I reculture my worms once/month. I wouldn't recommend going beyond two months. I feed part of the spent medium to my white worms and the rest to the compost heap. Recultured 1/9/2024
