Baby Shubunkin GOLDFISH

Goldfish, lot number 633-13

These cute little baby shubunkins are of the American variety of Shubunkins. They were bred by me in my 900+ gallon pond outside. I have been breeding goldfish for many years and these fish have an awesome background. My original stock was from an MAS member whose dad had been a goldfish farmer in Hong Kong. If memory serves me best at least one of the ancestral fish was a Bristol Shubunkin with the heart shaped caudal fin. I do see a few of these that show up from time to time but most of my shubunkins have the long finnage and more closely resemble the American variety.

These fish have great color and are very active. Most of these calicos color up early on which makes it easier for me to do the initial culling where I remove the wild colored (olive) ones. It's nice to have piranhas around to dispose of the culls.
