young Half Black Pastel Guppy 3 Pairs

Livebearers, lot number 461-8
Bred by this user

3 PAIRS!....The Half Black Pastel is one of the most striking strains of guppies because of the intense colors and contrasts in both the male and the female.  While this is NOT a great photo, it does show that the female is large and almost as striking as the male.  Unlike many guppy strains, this strain should be bought on the younger side.  They breed young, from 3.5 to 6 months however, after that age while the males can still reproduce, many of the females can't produce viable fry much beyond 7 months..  I don't care.  I breed them young and then enjoy the beauty and stately mature female with their large body and colorful dorsal and caudal fins.  These large beauties allowed me to win the IFGA 2024 Half Black Female class and contributed to me winning the 2024 International Fancy Guppy Association's (IFGA) Grand Overall Female Championship.  I'll try to post some better photos on the other lots to really show off their beauty.

The fish in the auction are  young adults.....smaller than fully mature but able to breed.  They will increase in size but this way you are more likely to get fry.  The females will get to be almost twice the size of the mature male.  Most of these females are already "hit".  Save the fry but no telling who the father is.  Because of that, the first brood may have white, cream, pale yellow, pale pink or pale blue matching dorsals and caudals. Well worth keeping just to see which shade of "Pastel" you like best. Their second drop will be 90% from the present male as their sperm is much more viable.

Enjoy them... I certainly do!
