Blue Shrimp Orange Eye heterozygotes
Shrimp, lot number 327
Bred by this user
These guys are carriers of the orange eye gene. That's a recessive gene, OE blue male crossed with non-carrier blue female mother, so all of these guys are carriers of the gene and 25% of their offspring will have orange eyes.
Note that because Murphy's law overrides Mendel's law, it seems to me that about 1 in 6 or 7 of the offspring actually have the orange eyes. Still, if you breed the F1s of this cross that have the orange eyes, all the F2s have those sexy orange eyes, so Mendel is probably on to something.
These shrimp themselves look exactly like normal blue shrimp, excellent color, and they breed just as readily as any other Neocaridinia. I would say they breed about 80-90% true for me.
