The Rummy Nose Tetra (Hemigrammus rhodostomus) is a small but stunning species, known for its vibrant red nose and shimmering silver body, making it a favorite among aquarium enthusiasts. These peaceful and social fish thrive in schools of at least six or more, where they display beautiful, coordinated schooling behavior, often swimming in tight formations. Rummy Nose Tetras reach a maximum size of about 2 inches (5 cm), and their bright red facial coloration becomes even more intense when they are well cared for and in ideal water conditions. They prefer soft, slightly acidic water with a temperature range of 74–82°F (23–28°C) and a pH between 6.0 and 7.5.
