Axolotl (Aquatic Salamander) with GFP

Amphibians, lot number 522

This color variation is similar to the wild pattern, however, with the Green Fluorescent Protein gene which causes them to glow under blue light, it's colour and pattern causes a star-burst effect when viewed.

These animals have now grown their four legs and feet.  They eat earth worms, frozen blood worms, & pellets.  We also recommend foods specifically manufactured for Axolotls.  Right now they are approximately 4 inches in length.  They will be much larger at fully grown, approximately 8-10".

It is recommended that for a fully grown Axolotl be provided with not less than a 20 gallon long tank.  We do not recommend putting them on substrates other than fine sand or bare bottom.  Temperatures for these animals should be on the cooler side, around 72 degrees maximum.  Please read the care links section to get a good idea of what is required to properly keep Axolotls.
