The Polar Parrot Cichlid is a human created hybrid, crafted from the Convict Cichlid and Blood Parrots. Blue/Platinum polar parrot hybrids have striking, blue/black stripes, with patterns individual to each fish. They are active fish, always digging, swimming, or chasing each other around the tank. Sometimes they will even follow your finger across the glass. Easy to care for, these fish need a heated freshwater aquarium with a PH of approximately 7. Polar Parrot Cichlids can be kept in groups, or community tanks, as long as the other fish cannot fit in their mouths, but be warned, these fish become territorial when spawning. The fry are roughly a quarter of an inch, but will grow to be as large as 8 inches. This species is an incredible addition to any aquarium and make for a very entertaining, eye catching fish.
