A group of 6 Celestial Pearl Danios bred by myself.

CPDs are a great nano fish with fun behavior and a striking black and orange coloration. They are also a great fish to start a breeding project with as it is relatively easy (they spawn almost every morning). They are pretty flexible when it comes to parameters and I keep/breed them at room temperature.

Males are more colorful and have beautiful orange fins that they flare out. I also find they develop a gold racing strip on the top of their heads when they are trying to be impressive. Females are more pale but still get some nice color and orange on the fins when in good condition.

They do well in community tanks and I highly recommend keeping them in planted ones. No only will they do better but their colors look great against a green background.

Photos were taken the morning of 3/20/24 by myself with the brightness adjusted for clarity. I can't guarantee that you will get the exact fish in the photos, but if not I will make sure they look similar.
