Spring tails float on water and are great for surface feeding fish.

The square container is used to hold the aquarium water, wet charcoal and spring tails.

The attached video says you can feed the spring tails uncooked rice but I just feed mines a powered food that consists of dried aquarium plants (stem plants and duck weed) and fish food pellets/flakes.
