Super duper rare Goodeids. This population has been extinct in the wild since 2006

Up for bid are one young pair of Characodon lateralis (until recently, it was called audax) from collection location "Los Pinos." This pair was from a group of fry born early this year and will be breeding age by early next year. They're approximately 0.75" long. They prefer cooler temperatures. They can overwinter down to (at least) 55F and then spawn when temperatures get back above 68F. They struggle if kept above 75F. They feed on flake and pellets but will spawn better with live or frozen foods.

The Los Pinos population is a bit more aggressive than the other Characodon ESUs, in my experience. The males are semi-territorial and will spar with one another but usually won't do any damage as long as there's enough cover. I have not observed any aggression towards/from females.
