Seven young Melanotaenia rubrivittata rainbowfish that I bred in my fishroom. They are about 3/4" long, as adults they'll be about 2". At this size males are just starting to show colors. The species is named rubrivittata (Latin: red-stripes) with reference to the distinctive markings that distinguish it from the similar appearing M. praecox. These are some of the smallest of the Melanotaenia rainbowfish and would be nice addition to a planted tank, especially with a dark substrate. There are several adult neocaridina shrimp in my breeding tank with the adults. I'll try and give you a mix of males and females. A rainbowfish traded between enthusiasts that you'll likely not see in any local shops.
