AI agents

An AI assistant, like Claude, ChatGPT or Grok, can use this site the same way you do. You ask in plain English; it finds the pages and does the typing.

Ask it things like

  • "Add a trio of guppies to Saturday's auction."
  • "Which of my lots haven't sold?"
  • "Find the cichlids in this auction and watch them, so I get a notification when they come up."
  • "Add a good picture from the internet to each of my lots that doesn't have one."
  • "My new address is 12 Mill Lane." It updates every auction and club that has the old one.

Running an auction

  • "Bump lot 5 for bidder 325." Bumps
  • "Who still owes money in the spring auction?"
  • "Is there anything this site can do that my club isn't using?"
  • "Summarize the help on labels for me."

Connecting

You give the assistant this site's address, and it sends you here to sign in and say what it may do.

Claude

Works with a free account, on the web, desktop and phone.

  1. Open Add a custom connector in Claude. In the apps it's Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector.
  2. Paste the address.
  3. Sign in here when Claude sends you, and say yes.

ChatGPT

Needs a paid plan, with developer mode switched on.

  1. In ChatGPT's settings, turn on developer mode and add an app for a remote MCP server. OpenAI move these menus around; their guide has the current path.
  2. Paste the address, and choose OAuth.
  3. Sign in here, then turn the app on from the + menu in a chat.

Grok

Web and apps.

  1. Open Connectors in Grok, then New connector, Custom. On a business account, an admin adds it first.
  2. Paste the address.
  3. Sign in here when Grok sends you, and say yes.

What's connected

Everything you've connected is listed here, with a Disconnect button. Disconnecting stops it straight away.

With your other apps

Connect the assistant to other apps as well, and it can carry information between them and this site. Each of these needs the other app's own connector, if it has one.

  • Your payment app. "Check this week's payments against who still owes, then mark the ones who paid." PayPal, Square and Stripe all offer connectors. Payments
  • Your accounting software. "Copy this month's hall rent and speaker fees into the club's records." Or the other way: who the club owes, entered as bills. Club money
  • The web. "Find pet shops and breeders near the club that might donate a raffle prize, and add them to our vendor list." Donations
  • Your email. "Check my email for replies from our donation vendors, and draft the follow-ups." Gmail has a connector. Donations

Every change asks you first, and one at a time, so a long list takes a while.

Keys, for scripts

You don't need a key for Claude, ChatGPT or Grok. A key is for a script, a cron job, or a connector your organisation's administrator adds once for everybody. Anyone with the key is you, so treat it like a password.

Click the site's name at the top left of any page and type what you want to do. This is slower and doesn't have every feature, but is a great way to find the page you're looking for.
