Your account

AI: Connect an AI agent and have it search and summarize the help for you.

Click your username, then account to access your account information.

Signing in

Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple is quickest: one click, no password. Otherwise click Create account and use your email.

If you don't sign up with Google or Apple, we'll send you an email to confirm. In the interest of keeping the help helpful, I'm not going to tell you that you need to click the link in your email to confirm it or to check your spam folder if you don't see it. You're reading the help, so you're already in the 1% of most tech savvy users.

Tip Watched lots missing, can't print labels, invoice won't open? Check the name at the top right. You're probably signed in with a different account on this device.
Tip Want Google or Apple sign-in on an existing account? Sign in the usual way, then use Connect Google/Apple account in your account pages. Signing in with Google under a different email makes a second account instead.
Tip Ended up with two accounts anyway? Open Merge accounts in the one you want to close and type the other's username. Then sign in to the other within 24 hours to finish. The account you finish from keeps its username and password, and the Google, Apple or Facebook sign-ins and connected AI agents from the closed one move to it.

Your name, address and phone

Contact info holds your real name, phone and mailing address.

  • Your name goes on your invoices. Only the people running auctions you join see it.
  • Your address is where clubs mail your check when you sell. Keep it up to date.
  • The map pin is how the site knows what's near you.
  • Change it once and it changes in every club you're in, and in any recent auction.

Your username is public: it's on your lots, bids and chat messages, for anyone to see. Change username changes it. Untick Username visible in your Preferences to bid anonymously. The people running an auction still see who you are.

To use a different email, go to Change email. Only you can change it. It doesn't need to match your card account: any card can pay any invoice.

AI: Ask "my new address is 12 Mill Lane". It updates every auction and club that has the old one.

Preferences

Preferences is what the site shows you:

Email visibleYour email on your public page, for signed-in people. For sellers who want buyers to reach them.
Only show nearby auctions, Distance unit, Preferred currencyThe currency is for auctions you create.
Lot photosWhether your photos can be reused on other lots with the same name, and whether yours get one automatically.

Ignore categories hides whole categories from lot lists. No saltwater tank? Hide corals.

AI: Ask "switch me to kilometres" or "hide my email".

Notifications

Notifications is when the site may contact you:

  • Auctions near you, online and in person: one message per auction, only if you haven't been on the site for a few days. Set how far "near" is.
  • Questions on your lots, and replies to yours.
  • A reminder when you look at an auction but don't join.
  • Push notifications when lots sell: at an in-person auction, a notification when a lot you're watching comes up. Works in the phone app or a web browser: turn them on and test them.
  • With the phone app: notifications instead of emails, and a running total of what you've bought.

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Chat notification setup picks which lots' questions you hear about.

Emails from auctions

When you join an auction, add lots, or your invoice is ready, the site emails you on behalf of the people running it.

Tip Reply to any of those emails and your reply goes to them: the auction organizer. It's the quickest way to ask about drop-off, pickup, or a lot with a problem.

What other people can see

WhoSees
AnyoneLots, sale prices and usernames.
People running auctions and clubs you joinYour real name, email, phone and address.
Signed-in peopleYour email, only if you tick Email visible.

Your public page shows your username, your lots for sale, and the feedback people left you.

Your data and deleting your account

  • Download my data: one file with everything the site holds about you.
  • Delete account: says exactly what goes and what stays. Your sign-in and profile go; auction results stay, without your name, so other people's invoices still add up. It happens 30 days later, and signing in before then cancels it.
  • My account: your public page as you see it, with links to all of the above.
